Good weather and water resistance
The butyl layer of the butyl sealing tape is permanently resistant to UV and weather (not suitable for use under water). The non-woven fabric of the butyl sealing tape is excluded from this.
High adhesion to absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces
Can be used on all the surfaces in the construction sector, e.g. steel, aluminium, glass, plastic, wood, concrete, masonry, bitumen etc.
Can be painted and plastered over
The butyl tape with fleece lamination can be painted with a variety of zinc dust and dispersion colours. In the case of sealed surfaces that can no longer be moved e.g. there are cracks in the masonry, the tape can be plastered over (max. 20 mm). On expansion joints, e.g. window perimeter joints this should not be done – this could lead to cracks in the plaster.
Impermeable to vapour diffusion
Compatible with Plexiglas and Macrolon
Self-fusing

- Sealing wall, roof and connection constructions as well as greenhouses, skylights and saw tooth skylights
- Sealing light domes, chimney flashing, sheet metal joints and other joints made from glass, plastic or metal
- Ventilation and plumbing seals
- The surfaces to be sealed must be dry, load-bearing and free from grease and dust
- The processing temperature should not be below +5°C
- Absorbent and porous surfaces must be pre-treated with Würth butyl/bitumen primer
- To obtain good initial adhesion to the surface, the tape should be pressed onto the surface and smoothed using a press-on roller or a similar tool
- Butyl has a "cold flow" tendency (flow characteristic of the tape). Therefore, the tape should always be fitted with a press-on profile to prevent the seal from slipping as a result of, for example, the weight of snow or backed-up water. If the tape is fitted or repaired without a press-on profile, there is a risk that the sealing tape may slip.
- When using a press-on profile, the profile manufacturer's specifications regarding the width of the butyl tape must be observed.
- Using excessive contact pressure on the profile will cause the sealing compound to be "pushed out". Never compress the butyl tape absolutely flat (use the supplied disc as a spacer)
- To ensure optimal bonding, refer to IVD leaflet No. 5 Sealing with butyl tapes.
