Definition of effective value measurement
With non-linear loads (energy-saving bulbs, dimmers, speed controllers, switching power supplies etc.), a pure sine wave in the power supply is becoming increasingly rare. These distorted signal forms can cause measurement errors of up to 50%. It is therefore advisable to work with TRMS meters, which display the effective value of a current or a voltage.
For measurements on batteries, alternator, starter motor, carburettor, ignition coil, capacitors etc. (some applications require the AC and/or AC + DC passive current probe, not included in delivery)
