The nylon backing plate with ventilation holes offers the following advantages:
- The burrs inside the backing plate cavity combined with the external holes let the air circulate, cooling the metal during the sanding operation. This prevents the phenomenon of stainless steel turning purple
- The circulating air also cools the abrasive fabric, which reduces deterioration by bonding the abrasive grain with resin. This means that the grain does not detach from the fabric, which extends the service life
- The backing plate has a central thread (M14), which allows the disc to be attached to the sander more quickly and easily
Disc with core blade with more smaller flaps for even and complete wear of the disc
Despite a narrower core blade, the disc can hold about 25 % more abrasive fabric than a conventional disc
Due to the special angular shape of the flaps, the abrasive fabric is trimmed very quickly. This prevents the disc from becoming blunt and allows for more precise machining of the sanding area
