A mechanical pipe ventilator allows air into the waste water pipe system to ensure that the sewer gases are carried off to the outside and pressure compensation takes place so that the sealing water in the stench traps is not sucked empty. At the same time, it prevents the sewer gases from flowing into the building. In accordance with EN12056-2, the German residual standard DIN 1986-100 and EN 12380, installations with mechanical pipe ventilators are approved as one of the possible systems.
