Thread-rolling screws form an internal thread in blind holes in cast iron and sheet metal with punched holes, laser-etched holes or helical drill holes. Unlike traditional thread, the material structure in the counter-thread formation is not cut but rather arranged according to the thread profile and strain hardened.
