An inspection must be carried out beforehand by an expert, as the individual features of the particular roof must be taken into account. Every elevated photovoltaic system must be selected and structurally calculated on a case-by-case basis depending on the location, roof structure and building load-bearing structure. The residual load-bearing capacity of the building must be evaluated beforehand for each system by a structural engineer.
